Job Title: English Teacher (Maternity Cover) - PRU in Skelmersdale
Location: Skelmersdale
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Maternity Cover (Full-time)

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher for a maternity cover role at a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Skelmersdale. The PRU caters to students who have struggled in mainstream education, and as such, we are looking for someone who can provide a supportive and engaging learning environment.
While the role is for an English specialist, we are open to applications from Primary-trained teachers who have experience teaching upper Key Stage 2 or are confident delivering English to a similar age group. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on students who require a more individualized and nurturing approach to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to small groups of students
Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to meet the individual needs of students
Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the PRU's policies
Monitor and assess student progress, adapting lessons accordingly
Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environmentKey Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching English at secondary level (Primary-trained teachers with upper KS2 experience will also be considered)
Ability to build rapport with students and staff
Experience working with children with additional needs or in a PRU setting (preferred but not essential)
Strong classroom management skills and a patient, empathetic approachAPPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SPENCER CLARKE GROUP

You must be willing to attend a registration interviewAll pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
