Intermediate Structural Engineer

Key Qualifications and Skills: Education: ASc. or B.Eng. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering Professional Registration: Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or EIT with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) Experience: Structural design experience in concrete and wood structures Previous experience working on commercial projects, high-rise towers, and industrial buildings is highly valued Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawing plans Knowledge of the BC Building Code Familiarity with engineering and design software tools Duties and Responsibilities: Design and Planning: Create plans, designs, and perform computer analysis, checking drawing reviews and calculations based on engineering principles and in accordance with relevant codes and standards. Project Analysis: Analyse reports, drawings, and construction documents to plan and design projects, particularly in commercial, high-rise, and industrial sectors . Software Usage: Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents, as well as perform calculations. Field Work: Conduct field reviews and structural observations as part of project execution. Review Process: Review shop drawings, contractor requests, and RFI’s (Requests for Information) to ensure project accuracy and compliance.
