Job Description

Role: Business Strategy Consultant Client: Top 5 Banks Duration: 12 months contract, potential to convert to FTE Location: Hybrid, 1 day a week downtown Toronto Leads assigned strategic initiatives from initiation to implementation to achieve desired business results. Supports the Business Management, Strategy and Transformation leadership team (Senior Manager and above) in executing strategic priorities for the business/group. Effectively sources and integrates information to promote the profitable operation of the business/group. Works with stakeholders to interpret business and financial results, understands the operating environment & emerging trends and provides strategic planning, support and recommendations to improve operational effectiveness and tracks achievement of objectives. Supports the development of effective, consistent communications for the business/group senior leader and for the leadership team. Acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders for making business decisions and implementing strategic initiatives Expert in structuring ambiguous problems and takes action to solve them Synthesizes clear takeaways from complex information into clear takeaways and recommendations using both qualitative and quantitative methods Provides strategic & tactical input into business decisions as a trusted advisor Communicates effectively with all audiences, including senior leaders, in a structured manner Assists in the development of strategic plans Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues Develops an expert understanding of business/group challenges Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business Recommends measures to improve organizational effectiveness Leads the development of priorities, current, and planned initiatives, and support requirements related to strategic management for the business/group Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders Defines business requirements for analytics & reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision making Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues Collaborates across client to help develop communications strategies and ensure consistency of messaging, in order to positively influence or change behaviour Manages change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives Designs and/or leads initiatives to improve processes, analysis and reporting Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations Conducts independent review, analysis, and resolution of strategic issues Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders Ensures alignment between stakeholders Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting Influences how teams/groups work together Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to multiple, interdependent, complex problems Fosters strong internal and external networks and works with and across multiple teams to achieve business objectives Anticipates trends and responds by implementing appropriate changes Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed Qualifications: Typically 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience Analytical and problem solving skills - Expert Verbal & written communication skills - Expert Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - Expert Data driven decision making - Expert High aptitude to learn quickly, and integrate into new teams and projects Able to manage ambiguity
