Job Description

Empower people. Stop crime. Change communities. Be part of our mission.

Who We Are: Crimestoppers is an independent charity giving individuals the power to speak up about crime, completely anonymously. Through our 24/7 phone lines and online services, we provide a safe way for people to share information and advice to protect their loved ones. Since our founding in 1988, we have helped over 140,000 arrests, building safer communities across the UK.

At Crimestoppers, we believe in making a positive impact, giving a voice to those who need it most. With a proud history rooted in public service, our work enables individuals, businesses, and communities to feel safe and secure.

The Role: As Director of Business Development & Fundraising, you’ll play a pivotal role in securing the income that drives our mission forward. Working closely with the CEO and the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for building and growing our commercial partnerships and fundraising efforts, helping Crimestoppers expand our services and influence how crime is addressed in the UK.

What You’ll Do:

  • Business Development: Lead the strategy for generating commercial income, securing new partnerships, and increasing the value of existing contracts to ensure continued support for our charitable services.
  • Fundraising: Drive efforts to gain funding from charitable and statutory sources, supporting the vital work of our Regional Managers, Fearless youth workers, and national campaigns.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop a 3-year business plan, identifying new markets and services that align with our mission, while working closely with other charity departments to achieve shared goals.
  • Account Management: Ensure high levels of satisfaction with our current partners, leading to strong, lasting relationships and contract renewals.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Partner with our Marketing team to maintain and grow brand awareness within targeted markets, expanding our reach and the impact of our campaigns.
  • Team Development: Lead, motivate, and develop a talented team, helping them achieve their potential and deliver on the charity’s goals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strategic, consultative approach to sales, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding financial targets.
  • Fundraising experience, particularly within commercial, statutory, and trust sectors would be beneficial.
  • Exceptional people skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with partners at all levels and adapt to different audiences.
  • Demonstrable leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • A solid marketing background, capable of assessing market needs and driving brand awareness through innovative approaches.

Why Join Us? This is a unique opportunity to be part of an organisation that plays a crucial role in making communities safer. You will have a significant voice in shaping national campaigns, influencing how crime is tackled, and engaging with a wide range of partners. At Crimestoppers, we value collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to social justice.
