· RCV Class 2 drivers CPC is essential.

· C1 licence holders, experience of operating small mechanical sweepers is preferable, CPC is essential.

· Cleansing operatives “Litter Picker”

We are now recruiting several roles in our Street Cleansing Department in Manchester with vacancies in the City centre of Manchester

The role holder will be part of a team contributing to a comprehensive range of flexible working hours, this operation runs 24/7 , responsive, and planned operational services for the residents, businesses, and visitors to the City Centre.

Job Purpose

• To help deliver a safe, reliable and efficient street cleansing service, to improve the quality of the streets and the public space in Manchester City Centre.

• Carrying out street cleansing activities such as sweeping, litter picking, emptying litter and dog waste bins, graffiti/fly poster removal and any other associated street cleansing duties.
• All activities to be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the contract and compliance with health and safety training and safe systems of work.
• The role holder will provide high quality, customer focused, flexible and prompt operational support

*Whilst you may be assigned to one of the services, you will be contracted to work across all services.

Requirements

• Good communication skills
• Must hold a valid driving licence or Class 2 & CPC
• Able to work flexible hours
• Good time keeping
• Good customer service skills
• Able to work as part of a team and on your own as required
• Willing to work outside throughout the year, in all weather conditions, in a physically demanding role
• Basic knowledge of health and safety
