Mechanical or Electrical Estimator

Our client, a leading M&E contractor in the UK, is seeking an experienced M&E Estimator with strong mechanical expertise to join their team on a permanent basis. Based in Thurrock, this role will cover projects across South East England.

Duties:

The role will be primarily based in Thurrock but may require travel in London / Essex / South East for meetings.

* Estimating projects with values from £150k - £10m

* Liaising with main clients concerning projects and RFI's

* Attend tender meetings

* Analyse project specifications and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates

* Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements

* Conduct site visits to assess project scope and gather necessary information

* Utilise cost estimation software and tools to generate detailed estimates

* Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids for projects

* Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure cost control

* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services

* Present estimates and proposals to clients in a clear and professional manner

Requirements:

* Proven experience as an Estimator with Mechanical & Electrical background

* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

* Proficiency in using cost estimation software and Microsoft Excel

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
