PROJECT MANAGER – SCOTLAND / UK VARIOUS – PERMANENT - up to £75k plus car allowance / benefits

VGC Energy part of VGC Group Limited are currently recruiting a Project Manager to work on contracts across the UK – initially based in Scotland.

As Project Manager, you will be a key member of the Operational Team, responsible for the successful delivery of Overhead Line Projects. These projects may range from the complete refurbishment of existing overhead power lines to the development and construction of new lines that are essential for ensuring energy security in the UK.

The projects currently in development are located across various regions of England.

Project Manager – Responsibilities

* Ensure that Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans and Quality Plans are established for all operational sites and contribute to the development of necessary Policies & Procedures.

* Ensure all required documentation for site-based activities is in place, adhered to, and regularly reviewed.

* Communicate timely programming and change notifications to support other internal departments.

* Provide technical support to the Design department as needed.

* Serve as the primary point of contact for correspondence and meetings with third parties.

* Collaborate closely with the Head of Operations and Head of Portfolio to coordinate and allocate appropriate resources across projects.

* Capture contract changes and compensation events, ensuring that the Commercial team conducts impact evaluations on costs and schedules.

* Utilise project controls to enhance project efficiency and profitability.

* Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant submission of time bookings, out allowances, and expenses.

* Prepare monthly contract review reports and project close-out reports.

* Attend Company and Client contract review/progress meetings.

* Provide leadership, coach and mentor members of the project-specific management team.

* Represent Company to the client and all stakeholders.

* Maintain commercial and contractual awareness to ensure the proper administration of the contract, safeguarding or maximizing any potential entitlements.

Project Manager – Requirements

* Working knowledge of current H&S legislation

* A good understanding of administering construction contracts, specifically NEC3/4

* To understand the basic construction elements of the UK electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure

* 5 years plus experience in delivering large scale construction projects in the role of Project Manager

* Client facing experience with blue chip client(s), including chairing and leading with various stakeholders as the organisations senior representative

* Willing to travel to and work from all sites throughout the UK

* Operational experience of Overhead Line construction and refurbishment projects (desirable)

* Project Management qualification(s) and or Degree / Higher Education (desirable)

* A recognised Health & Safety qualification, i.e. NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable)
