Hertfordshire Office (2-3 days a week)

Overview:

Talent Drive are pleased to be supporting an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement leader who comes from the hospitality, retail and/or food service industry to lead a small procurement team (team of 3) for UK based hospitality business. You will be tasked with define the procurement strategy across indirect, FM and F&B, c.£100M spend. In addition, you will be required to develop the procurement function to add value alongside driving innovation and operational excellence.

You will have the proven experience of being able to consult with the business, across all levels of stakeholders up to c-suite whilst being able to re-build those relationships to allow you to take the business on the journey to shift the view of procurement to a value add function.

What the role involves:

• Define and mitigate supplier and supply risk
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the whole business
• Define a procurement strategy for the business that controls costs, delivers timely supplies, reduces risk, and adds value
• Define and deliver an action plan to execute the agreed strategy
• Agree deliverables and metrics to support the strategy: for instance target cost down activity and supplier performance metrics against contractual SLAs
• Ensure rigour in procurement and buying processes
• Establish processes that support the procurement strategy
• Influences our culture change to one that aligns procurement with the operational and commercial needs of the business

The person we hope to find:

• Broad indirect category experience, ideally including FM, Linen and some F&B), preferably in a Hospitality, Retail and/or FMCG environment
• Strong capability in analysis and use of Microsoft Excel.
• Great at stakeholder management across the business, comfortable in front of customers, suppliers and senior management
• Front line supplier negotiations & negotiating SLAs and supplier contracts
• Delivering cost avoidance and cost reduction experience
• Contributing to development of procurement strategy
• Influencing non direct reports
• MCIPS qualified
