Role Description

The purposeof this role is to provide accurate pricing for tenders and client proposals for the EV, ICP & occasionally Telecoms works. Working closely with the Heads of department and BDM, the role has a responsibility to ensure that all bids that are submitted conform to the sign off standards commensurate with the value and risk of any given project. This role within the EV & ICP Division will be instrumental in setting the company strategy and operating model to take full advantage of the multiple opportunities that will present themselves over the coming years.


Responsibilities

  • The analysis and summary of all tender and pricing opportunities generated throughout the EV & ICP Division
  • Prepare proposals / write bids were required
  • Liaison with business development colleagues to identify pricing strategy and approach
  • Liaison with colleagues in Operations, projects and commercial to structure the bid and to ensure that buy-in where required from delivery departments is sought and signed off
  • Liaison with clients to ensure clarity and deal with matters arising during the tender process
  • Preparation of pricing analysis showing build-up and source of costs of materials, labour, plant and sub-contractors and any other project specific bought-in costs.
  • Issue enquiries to sub-contractors and suppliers for pricing
  • Develop and maintain a new schedule of rates covering all deliverables covering civils, electrical, rigging, I&C plant and materials
  • Produce internal project handover documents
  • Attend client tender meetings and presentations as required
  • Manage e-tendering process when required
  • Ensure that all pricing timescales are cascaded to all relevant parties and manage all inputs to ensure that responses are on time and accurate.
  • Monitor and update relevant project databases to ensure accuracy / data integrity.
  • Production and up-keep of work-related spreadsheets / reports.
  • Engage a culture of ‘continuous improvement’ and embrace the safety, health, environmental and quality systems employed by Clarke Telecom.
  • Ensure all Company processes and policies are adhered to.
  • Alignment with Clarke’sMASTS protocol SafetyAwareness and compliance at all times.
  • On successful projects, carry out post tender reviews with the delivery team and carry out review of what was priced / budgeted, versus what was installed
  • On unsuccessful bids carry out post-mortem to ensure that lessons are learned, and market intelligence is recorded
  • Accurately maintain Tender tracker and provide data for monthly reports

Some travel to other UK headquarters required. Late or weekendworking in support of project delivery may be required


Qualifications

Essential

  • Expert knowledge of electrical engineering and construction predominately in the EV, electrical utilities sector as well as telecoms.
  • Previous EV / DNO / ICP experience
  • Experience of takinginnovation and successfully developing into new ways of working
  • Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of market prices.
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Ability to manage time in an efficient manner
  • Excellent IT Skills (MS Office etc.)
  • Have a passion to succeed
  • Ability to manage complexity and changing targets
