Job Title: Fire Door Installer/carpenter
Location: London, SW8 1AY
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £20-£25 per hour (depending on experience)
Duration: Ongoing with potential for long-term work
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm (possible overtime)
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Fire Door Installer to join our team for projects in London, specifically in the SW8 1AY area. As a Fire Door Installer, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fire doors in residential and commercial buildings to the highest safety standards. You must have a strong knowledge of current fire door regulations and installation techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Install fire doors in accordance with FD30/FD60 standards and BS 476-22 fire safety regulations.
Ensure all installations are compliant with building codes and fire safety requirements.
Conduct fire door inspections, identifying faults and ensuring the doors function properly.
Replace or repair damaged fire doors, frames, and ironmongery as required.
Maintain clear documentation of installations and repairs, including certificates and inspection reports.
Collaborate with site managers, other trades, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.
Adhere to all relevant health and safety protocols on-site, ensuring that fire doors meet the required legal standards.
Provide feedback on project timelines, challenges, and solutions to supervisors and clients.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Fire Door Installer (minimum 5 years preferred).
Up-to-date knowledge of fire door regulations and safety standards.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry or a relevant trade qualification.
Experience working with FD30/FD60-rated fire doors.
A valid CSCS card.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Own tools and PPE are essential.
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients and supervisors.
Right to work in the UK.
