Job Description

Our large Federal Government client is looking to engage multiple Engagement Officers for intial contracts until 30 June 2025. This is your opportunity to contribute to a major national project led by the federal government across Australia.



You will:



  • Work in a highly collaborative manner, work with our client's team leads to engage with our partners to realise maximum benefits for Indigenous Australians. This will involve travelling, sometimes to remote localities,

  • Develop and actively manage key internal and medium complexity external relationships, including collaborating with key stakeholders to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation,

  • Provide high quality and timely advice internally and

  • Make and communicate decisions using professional judgement, evaluating risks in the context of a complex and changing environment.



To be successful, you will have:



  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to tailor messages and information for a variety of audiences of varying seniority,

  • Organised, with strong ability to contribute to activities, including attention to detail and delivering results,

  • Ability to identify problems and work to resolve them,

  • A strong commitment to working harmoniously within a team to achieve positive results,

  • An understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and

  • An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.



Candidates must have an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and proven culturally appropriate engagement and communication skills. You may be required to drive a hire car to regional locations for meetings and/or community engagement activities.



Please note, these positions require Australian Citizenship.
