This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.


Gosford Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Pharmacist Level 4 for a temporary full-time position. In this leadership role, you will be at the forefront of providing specialised pharmacy services within the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).


As a Level 4 Pharmacist, you will lead the clinical pharmacy services in your designated practice area, managing and mentoring both junior and senior pharmacists, technicians, and support staff. You will coordinate and oversee the delivery of clinical services, ensuring adherence to best practice, ethical standards, and legislative requirements. Your role will also include contributing to quality improvement initiatives, research, and the development of pharmacy practices, while supporting the educational needs of staff. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that pharmacy services operate efficiently and that patients receive timely, high-quality pharmaceutical care.

About You 

  • You will be registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with a high level of broad generalist and/or specialist knowledge.
  • You will have significant experience and demonstrated high level of competence, expertise, and clinical judgment in hospital pharmacy services.
  • You have the ability to lead by example, fostering cooperative professional relationships and maintaining a positive workplace culture through effective communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • You have experience in leading quality improvement initiatives, mentoring, and providing clinical teaching and supervision to students and staff.
  • You have a current Australian Drivers' Licence.
