  • Salary $120,859 - $133,183 per annum, Clerk Grade 9/10 plus employers’ contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is a specialist service department working to support the operation of the Parliament of NSW by providing logistical support and advice to members, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of New South Wales.

About the position
The purpose of this role is to provide outstanding research services to members of Parliament, their staff, committees and other stakeholders. The role also contributes as a senior member of the Parliamentary Research Service and provides leadership within the team.

It is expected that this role will bring superior knowledge and expertise of one or more of the main subject areas that are relevant to the NSW Parliament to undertake research, analysis and writing work. The role is expected to work independently and will also provide leadership within the Parliamentary Research Service.

The role will build on existing knowledge, experience and skills in particular subject areas, and will also be expected to work across other subject areas depending on the needs of the Parliamentary Research Service at any particular time.

  2. Describe how you successfully carried out a research, policy or other project in your area of subject expertise. Give examples of the sources and methods you used. How did you ensure that your work was objective and accurate?
  3. Describe your experience providing leadership in a multidisciplinary team. Give examples that demonstrate your ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a leadership role, and also where you have supported junior staff in conditions where work priorities may change quickly.
