What you'll be doing

To provide high quality evidence based clinical services to Mental Health consumers including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison and review as part of a multidisciplinary team for adults referred to the service with a mental illness or disorder. These interventions will be based on an appropriate model of practice as specified by the individual’s professional background, skills, and experience and will be informed by evidence based treatment guidelines. To work effectively with consumers, families and services to provide/co-ordinate high quality strengths based assessment, treatment and management.

This role is a Category A role. Preferred applicants will be reviewed for compliance and required to maintain compliance with the screening, assessment and vaccination requirements, relevant to your position, as outlined in NSW Health policy directive on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases.

For positions designated as child-related employment, or positions that may result in proximity to children, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children clearance number from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.

To obtain a WWCC clearance number, follow the instructions on the website of Service NSW, which includes completing an online application form and then attending a Service NSW Centre or a NSW Council Agency that provides Road and Maritime Services, to provide proof of identity and pay for the WWCC to be completed.

Please note that a volunteer WWCC (which is free) cannot be used for paid employment.

Selection Criteria

  1. Approved tertiary qualifications in Social Work and current membership of the AASW.
  2. Demonstrated experience in Mental Health Assessment, risk assessments, planning skills, intervention and treatment evaluation; that are relevant to the provision of recovery focused Mental Health Services.
  3. A commitment to a consumer focused recovery-oriented approach and consumer collaboration in care planning.
  4. Demonstrated high level of communication skills, both written and oral.
  5. Computer skills that would support the position and NSW Health requirements.
  6. Demonstrated skills in time management.
  7. Current unrestricted Class C drivers licence.
