Senior Governance Advisor

Be a part of delivering governance services to ensure MHNSW can preserve its value and deliver better outcomes to the people of NSW. As our Senior Governance Advisor you will collaborate with key stakeholders to drive risk management, compliance and internal audit, and ultimately support the ongoing business strategy.

What the opportunity is:

  • Employment with Museums of History NSW.
  • Clerk Grade 9/10. Remuneration package includes salary ($120,859- $133,183) employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
  • Full-time ongoing employment.
  • The role will work across Sydney.

What we do

MHNSW brings together the museums, historic houses and associated collections previously in the care of Sydney Living Museums with the vast collection of more than 13 million items held by the former NSW State Archives. This includes one of the world’s most complete and important collections documenting colonisation.

What you’ll do with us

This role with provide organisation-wide coordination, risk management, compliance, internal audit and policy advice, research services, project delivery and executive support to implement governance and strategy initiatives across Museums of History NSW, particularly with regard to business, corporate and public sector wide priorities.

What you need to do to apply

To apply you will need to submit the following:

  • A one-to-two-page cover letter outlining how your skills and experiences meet the essential requirements for this role,
  • A current resume listing two referees, and
  • Respond to the 2 targeted questions (no more than 300 words per answer). Your responses to the targeted questions should be submitted online during your application and not included in the covering letter.

What you need to tell us - Targeted questions:

  1. Provide a specific example about a time where you implemented a new process or a process improvement in the risk, compliance, internal/external audit, business continuity planning or similar space.
  2. This role will help drive risk management and compliance outcomes. Please describe a situation where you worked collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to communicate and implement an improvement, that resulted in a stronger risk management or compliance outcome. How did you ensure that the change was effectively communicated to the stakeholders, address resistance and manage any conflicting priorities? What was the outcome of your actions?
