Job Description

We have temporary vacancy for a Commissioning & Planning Officer at our Murrumbidgee Office

Location – Murrumbidgee - in the Murrumbidgee Far West Western NSW District

Employment type – Temporary up until 30/06/2026.

Salary – Clerk Grade 7/8 - $106,025.00 to $117,363.00 pa + Superannuation and annual leave loading per year of service.

Your role

As part of the Commissioning & Planning team, you will build and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders and partners from a relationships based approach.

You will bring your individual and professional experience, knowledge, and analysis of relevant data sources to ensure the team understands and can respond to the unique needs of the communities in which we work.

What you’ll do

As part of the Commissioning and Planning team you will:

  • Manage contract meetings that include leading discussion and reporting minutes
  • Contracts will primarily include Permanency Support Program (PSP), foster care and Intensive Therapeutic Care / residential programs.
  • Analyse reporting requirements and identify actions for follow up for the organisations that you are allocated.
  • Provide written responses to Ministerial and other requests for information internally within the department and externally.
  • Manage complaints and compliance for contracts.
  • Conduct annual reviews of the financial reporting requirements for individual organisations.
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external government agencies and providers.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience working with non-government organisations and government agencies.
  • An understanding of issues relating to Aboriginal people and communities
  • Existing kinship and networks in NSW and Aboriginal people
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own work, including working both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to a culture of team work, excellence and continuous improvement.
  • A strong commitment to customer service
  • Computer and systems competency
  • Sound research and analysis skills to support evidence-based decisions.
  • Project and program management experience
