About the role.
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Delivery and Engagement Group, working on the Government’s strategic priorities. In this pivotal role, you will have an opportunity to lead complex projects tackling some of the state’s greatest challenges.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Project Leadership: Oversee and manage assigned projects, ensuring effective execution and delivery of project plans, as well as provide direction to project teams, monitor performance, and develop innovative solutions to complex issues.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with senior stakeholders across government, private sector, and community to facilitate collaboration and drive project success, and utilise your influencing and negotiation skills to achieve consensus and support for key initiatives.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage risks associated with projects, ensuring that emerging issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Information Synthesis: Quickly and accurately synthesise information from various sources to inform decision-making and provide high-quality, actionable advice to the Premier, Cabinet, and Department executives.

- You’ll have a deep curiosity and an inquiring mind, who loves an intellectual challenge and unpicking complexity
- An ability to quickly get across new subject matter, discern what’s important and ask the right questions
- Proven experience in leading complex projects and service delivery reforms within government or similar settings.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of developing innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly.
- Experience in infrastructure, renewable energy, net zero, industry and workforce policy, or housing is highly valued.
- Previous government experience is advantageous but not essential.

Salary: Clerk Grade 11/12. Package includes base salary ($139,787 - $161,663) plus superannuation and leave loading.
