Remuneration: $70,049.73 - $98,351.39 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing
- WSLHD Audiometry nurses provide a comprehensive hearing screening and assessment to children 3-12 years of age. Strive to close the gap in hearing health for our Aboriginal children the largest urban Aboriginal community in NSW.
- The Registered nurse – Child and Family Health (CFH) Audiometry service plays a key role in the early identification of hearing problems and referral for appropriate intervention for children aged 3-12 years within the WSLHD Community.
- The service provides hearing assessments and promotes hearing health within the community to assists with the early identification of ear disease and hearing impairment. Assessments are provided across Western Sydney within community health centre, schools and Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) centres and at the Aboriginal Health Hub.
- This role provides an opportunity for skills development in the full role of the audiometry diagnostic nurse with training and professional support provided.
- The role is also an entry point for Registered Nurses with an interest in career development within community Child and Family Health nursing. Rotation to other CFH services such as vision screening and immunisation is supported by professional development.

Essential Criteria:
- Registration: Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA
Selection Criteria:
- Current Registration with the Australian health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered nurse, post-graduate qualification in Audiometry desirable.
- Demonstrated experience working with children 3-12 years including children with additional needs in a relevant health context.
- Demonstrated understanding of hearing screening and assessments including hearing health history, and Otoscopy, pure tone audiometry and tympanometry
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, and well-developed computer skills, including use of electronic medical records systems and relevant other computer applications and software in a health setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work with cultural sensitivity to liaise and consult collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and CALD populations and organisations in the local community.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment to achieve optimal health outcomes for the children and vulnerable communities.
- Demonstrated understanding of the First 2000 days Framework and early intervention, population health and primary health care approaches.
- Current NSW driver’s licence and willing to use for work purposes.
