  • Salary ranges from $139,787 to $161,663 plus employers’ contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

The Principal Enterprise Risk and Controls Advisory Partner provides expert specialist advice on the design, development and implementation of risk and control assessments, control monitoring activities and reporting across the department to assess the adequacy of controls, mitigate critical risk exposures and remediate weaknesses before they impact on the achievement of the department’s objectives.

The Chief Risk Office is the department’s trusted source of expertise on public sector risk, enterprise risk governance, enterprise risk management and controls. Risk management improves performance, encourages innovation and supports the achievement of the department’s objectives.

About you

  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management, controls assurance programs and practices, on-going controls monitoring.
  • Experience in structured controls assurance teams in large, complex organisations
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Tertiary qualifications or extensive equivalent experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number. This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCC’s validity (up to 5 years)
