Coordinator Statewide Programs,

Youth Justice

  • Ongoing, Full time
  • Location: Parramatta
  • Clerk Grade 9/10 Salary ($120,859 - $133,183 pa), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

Coordinate, support and provide assistance to Program Youth Officers across all Centres to ensure that programs and activities are delivered in a culturally safe and appropriate manner to meet the needs of a diverse range of young people.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate and provide support to program staff in centres, increasing staff expertise and skills in delivering meaningful and varied activities and programs for young people.

  • Coordinating programs and activities across all centres for consistency of practice and sharing program knowledge leading to increased opportunities and benefits for our young people.

  • Prepare, undertake, and submit reports and evaluations on programs and activities delivered to young people across the custodial system.

  • Collaborate and collate information on planned programs and events including school holiday schedules, cultural and special events. Collaborate with the media team and centre program staff to promote and showcase programs and events of interest.

  • Contribute to program team staff performance and development through self-assessment, feedback, discussing staff goals and progressing, identifying, and recommending staff development opportunities and training.

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to seek advice and information on educational and specialist programs and recreational activities to ensure young people are meaningfully engaged.

  • Liaise extensively with the Aboriginal Directorate to ensure that cultural programming involves internal and external Aboriginal stakeholders.

  • Liaise with Community partners to identify funding streams or collaboration networks to provide program opportunities across the state.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in the design, development and implementation of programs and activities for young people with high risk and complex needs.
  • Current NSW driver’s licence with ability and willingness to travel throughout NSW.
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012

Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:

  • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
