Manager of Business Unit – Furniture 5D
South Coast Correctional Centre

Location – South Coast Correctional Centre

Employment Type – Ongoing, Full Time

Salary – $133,459 pa + Superannuation + Annual Leave Loading

Your Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Manager that is a logical and strategic thinker with robust people and business management experience. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the Business Unit/s to ensure productivity, efficiency and other commercial objectives are achieved.

As part of this role, you will need to maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, assist with business development and encourage awareness of CSI capability.

The role requires:

  • Supervision and management of staff and inmates by appraising performance of business unit and offering counsel and feedback to ensure that the organisational outcomes are archived
  • Strong time management and computer skills
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment and managing to deliver key business objectives within set timeframes
  • Willingness to work across all trade units as required
  • Manage resources and budget efficiently and effectively to achieve planned outcomes by business units
  • Maintaining duty of care and complying with WHS safety requirements are being met by sustaining a safe work environment for staff, inmates, contractors and visitors

What we’re looking for

As a standout candidate you will have:

  • Demonstrated management experience in a Furniture, Textiles or related manufacturing or construction-based environment.
  • Proven experience in quality management and business management software e.g. Pronto or similar business management reporting system
  • Robust communication skills with staff and inmates
  • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice in accordance with specified CSNSW timeframes (12 weeks paid training)
  • Have or be willing to obtain relevant qualifications in Workplace Training and Assessment as requested by Corrective Services NSW

Essential Requirements

  • Current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle while performing the role
  • Possess relevant trade or current Certificate III in Furniture, Textiles or other related Manufacturing or Construction based industry
  • Hold current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain as part of employment
