Job Description

The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) is an independent statutory authority responsible for preparing and conducting criminal prosecutions in Victoria on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Matters prosecuted by the DPP and the OPP involve serious crimes or matters that are of significance to the fair and effective operation of the Victorian criminal justice system. The OPP consists of the Solicitor for Public Prosecutions and a staff of approximately 475 providing legal and corporate support to the DPP, the Chief Crown Prosecutor and Crown Prosecutors in the exercise of their independent roles in the criminal justice system.

The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) has an exciting opportunity for a motivated graduate who is looking for the opportunity to development their skills in a true entry level Human Resources role.

As a member of our wider People and Culture (P&C) team, you will contribute to the smooth and efficient delivery of services for the organisation by providing general administrative assistance, which includes responding to day-to-day enquiries, payroll processing, preparation of correspondence, coordination of P&C systems and processes and support to the Talent and Capability functions.

About the Role:

  • Provide paperless administrative support to the People Services and Advisory team, including management of share P&C inboxes and data entry into P&C systems
  • Administer P&C related documentation and correspondence including, but not limited to: employment contracts, correspondence and other P&C documentation.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice to both internal and external stakeholders on a range of P&C related queries.

As our ideal candidate you will:

  • be passionate about P&C and have experience working in a dynamic P&C environment.
  • possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • have an enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn.
