Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Equipment Trainer Assessor for an opportunity out of Newman working for a major Tier 1 miner on a 8:6 (4:3, 4:3) roster working 12 hours per shift.



To be successful in this role, you will possess:



  • Cert IV TAE Training and Assessment TA40116.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience operating mobile plant equipment in a civils or mining production environment.

  • Previous experience as a Trainer Assessor for mobile equipment within a mining background

  • Experienced in large production excavators - Non-negotiable. Preference is Liebherr.

  • Experienced in Autonomous Haulage - Non-negotiable.

  • Preference is Komatsu FrontRunner, however Minestar experience would be considered.

  • Experience in large production loaders - Non-negotiable. Preference is Komatsu WA1200. LeTourneau 1850

  • Experience in track dozers with contour and clearing would be beneficial.

  • Forklift, EWP & various High Risk Licences

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Current WA driver's licence.



The Role:


This person must be self motivated and able to work autonomously. The selected person will be required to rove from site to site as a roving trainer and when necessary cover vacancies in onsite training rosters where required. The successful applicant must have mining or construction experience and be able to provide group training programs and direct one on one training and assessment in a variety of mobile plant, such as dozers, excavators, loaders etc.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct training and assessment in accordance with the requirements of the training package and the principles of assessment;

  • Ensure that training and assessment processes is being followed and files and records are maintained to company standards;

  • Reporting the outcomes of the training in the Records system and updating the Employee's Supervisor of the results;

  • Liaise with Training Coordinator to ensure training and assessment materials are suitable and available;

  • Maintain the competencies so they are current to the site and national standards;

  • Identify and communicate training/assessment recommendations where gaps to the standards are identified; and

  • Remain fully conversant with legislation, & changes in relating to training



Required Skills and Experience:



  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Trainer Assessor within the Construction or Resources industry within mobile equipment

  • Able to modify training and assessment methods to support trainees and employees; and

  • Knowledge & understanding of the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) and the National Competency Standards & Competency Based Training.

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; and

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suites including Microsoft Project is desirable

  • Proficiency with SAP or similar

  • Minimum of C class manual drivers' licence
