Location Profile

Westgrove Primary School was established in 1995 and is located within the City of Wyndham on the land of the Bunurong People.

School Demographic

In 2024, we have approximately 500 students enrolled who are spread across 24 classes. We have either three or four classes at every year level from Prep to Grade 6.

We have a diverse student population, with 42% being from be disadvantaged background, 38% are EAL, 3% Aboriginal and a number of students in Out of Home Care. The Student Family Occupation Index (SFO) is 0.5981 and the Student Family Occupation and Education Index (SFOE) is 0.4935. We work tremendously hard to support all students to have access to the education they deserve.

Westgrove Primary Schools Intention, Vision and Values

Our intent at Westgrove Primary School is for our students to have the skills needed to participate in society in a meaningful way, which are articulated in our school vision and values. This is important because many of our students need real life skills in order to break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage and take full advantage of what is on offer.

  • Leading teachers are expected to lead and manage a significant area or function within the school with a high degree of independence to ensure the effective development, provision and evaluation of the school's education program.

    Leading teachers will be expected to make a significant contribution to policy development relating to teaching and learning in the school. A leading teacher has a direct impact and influence on the achievement of the school goals.

    Leading teachers are usually responsible for the implementation of one or more priorities contained in the school strategic plan.

    Responsibilities

    P-6 Wellbeing/MHAWL & Sub School Leading Teacher role:

    • Lead whole school support for students receiving Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
    • Lead the collection of student information in preparation for case management.
    • Lead the analysis of data sets available (inc. collection, analysis and application of wellbeing/ curriculum data)
    • Lead Wellbeing Priority Team
    • Lead attendance processes and procedures
    • Lead SWPBS
    • Coaching staff across the school.
    • Co-lead the work of PLC leaders
    • Lead and facilitate Wellbeing/ MHAWL based Professional Learning
    • Lead team planning (inc. pre-plan with PLC leader) and ensure Curriculum and Assessment documentation and practices are adhered
    • Monitor teacher work programs
    • Support staff in completing ABLES assessments and implementing adjustments
    • Lead Tier 2 Attendance Improvement Meetings for relevant sub-school.
    • Support relevant Assistant Principal with sub-school operations (where required)
    • Undertake operational tasks relevant to Teaching, Learning, Wellbeing & Inclusion duties within role.
    • Whole school promotion and event management related to specific areas being led.
