Job Description
Equifind is recruiting a Fund Controller to join a PLC venture capital firm based in the City of London, known for investing in some of the industry's most promising startups and boasting a diverse portfolio across the tech markets.
This long-established investment group has a strong track record of backing some of the world’s biggest companies at both early and growth stages. Their $2.2 billion portfolio spans sectors including banking, health technology, SaaS and consumer markets.
Reporting to the Finance Director with oversight of two junior accountants, your team will be responsible for:
Responsibilities:
- Oversee preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for funds.
- Review NAV calculations for various investment funds on a periodic basis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare investor capital account statements, capital call notices, distribution notices, and other investor communications in accordance with fund agreements and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate annual audits and tax filings for investment funds.
- Assist in the valuation of portfolio investments using various methodologies, including market comparables, discounted cash flows, and other valuation techniques.
- Analyse fund performance metrics, including Internal Rate of Return IRR, cash-on-cash return, and other performance benchmarks. Prepare performance reports for internal stakeholders and investors.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance controls, and improve efficiency within the finance and accounting function.
- Support senior management with ad-hoc financial analysis, special projects, and initiatives as needed.

- Base salary of £70-90,000, dependant on experience

Application criteria:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA preferred)
- At least 3 years of working in venture capital or private equity
- Experience of working with fund administrators and other external service providers
- Advanced-level Excel skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven stakeholder management experience and relationship building skills
