£40,000 - £50,000 per annum

We are looking for a skilled Mid Level Game Designer to join our team, working either remotely or from one of our offices. If you're driven by a passion for game design, have a keen eye for detail, and are excited about creating immersive gaming experiences, this role could be a perfect fit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage gameplay systems that offer immersive game loops, balanced mechanics, and engaging flow states.
• Develop storylines, character backgrounds, and dialogue, creating scripts and storyboards based on thorough research.
• Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation such as design outlines, diagrams, and mockups to communicate game interactions, triggers, and events.
• Work closely with UX/UI Designers to refine and optimise player interfaces.
• Design and build level layouts that enhance the overall gameplay experience.
• Identify design challenges and propose innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with creatives, developers, and project managers across varying lengths and complexities of projects.
• Build and showcase confident prototypes to bring game concepts to life.
• Support the development team throughout the production process to ensure successful game implementation.

What You’ll Bring:

• A portfolio showcasing your design skills and ready to discuss in an interview.
• A minimum of two years of game design experience.
• Strong knowledge in key game design areas, including combat systems, progression mechanics, monetisation strategies, and level design.
• Expertise in analysing, synthesising, and documenting game concepts.
• Experience in taking a game from concept through to live release.
• Creative problem-solving abilities and a passion for video games.
• Knowledge of UI/UX in gaming, from basic to advanced.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
• A positive attitude toward feedback, with a drive to continuously improve.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with AR/VR immersive technologies.
• Cross-platform development expertise.
