Supply Chain Director

We are working to recruit a Director of Supply Chain for a world-leading technology organisation, who deliver innovative mission-critical products and solutions to the Defence and Aerospace industry globally.

A NASDAQ listed company with almost 2500 employees and annual revenues approaching $1billion, they leverage their R&D capabilities and partnerships with a range of other blue chip technology companies to deliver best in class results.

As Supply Chain Director, you will manage a small but seasoned team of ambitious and energetic supply chain and commodity management professionals, based in the UK and Switzerland. This will, at least initially, include significant UK on-site presence, to build relationships and trust with stakeholders, and regular visits to the team in Switzerland. (Any French language skills would be a nice to have in this regard.)

You will be responsible for a multi-million pound spend across a range of electronic and mechanical categories in a predominantly box build environment, will drive a make/buy approach and be involved with indirect procurement processes.

Your Aerospace and Defence experience, either current or as a significant part of a more varied career, will be a key requirement for this opportunity and while Security Clearance is not mandatory, it would be helpful in terms of understanding the language and context of the sector.

You will have experience of subcontractor management and strategic buying, with the ability to understand the contract from a customer standpoint and be able to cascade that into the supply chain. SIOP/S&OP analysis and reporting experience will also be key, while knowledge (and ideally implementation experience) of ERP systems would be advantageous.
