Job Description

Networks and Security Engineer - Cisco

£367 a day (inside IR35) - 6 month contract (likely to be extended)

York - Hybrid - 2 days a week in the office


We're looking for a Networks and Security Engineer who has core experience of working on networking technologies including exposure to public cloud.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Product Owner in constructing a backlog (user stories/technical requirements)
  • Work with Agile Delivery Lead in providing proper estimation of work and help in delivering the work in a timely manner
  • Be an integral part of the squad and act as the go to person for networking requirements
  • Consume and understand technical requirements and contribute to / challenge the design before executing any work
  • Document the work being executed and provide handover to BAU team for day to day operations
  • Collaborate with engineers, testers, and other team members for migration work, DR tests etc including working out of hours where applicable
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders, both verbally and in writing

Skills / Experience Needed

  1. Cisco Nexus Switches (7k , 9k) , Cisco Routers (ASR and ISR series)
  2. Cisco ACI including VMM integration , ESGs etc
  3. Routing protocols – BGP , OSPF
  4. Recent Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewalls experience working on latest versions including in azure
  5. Ability to configure VPNs on Palo and Checkpoint firewall
  6. F5 (LTM / DNS / ASM) and Netscaler ADC
  7. Infoblox DDI and Azure DNS

This role could be based either in London, Colchester or York
