Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Package
Company Overview:
We are partnering with a leading earthworks and civil engineering company known for delivering high-profile infrastructure projects across the UK. Due to recent success and the award of new motorway schemes in the local area, they are expanding their southern team and seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Eastleigh office.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of large-scale motorway and civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for the commercial management of projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and to the highest quality standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take on a senior role within a dynamic and rapidly growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the commercial and financial management of projects, including cost planning, budget management, and forecasting.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Oversee the measurement and valuation of works, including preparation of applications for payment and final accounts.
- Monitor and report on project performance, identifying and managing risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and specifications.
- Provide support and guidance to junior members of the commercial team.
- Liaise with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and delivery of project objectives.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents and bid submissions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the earthworks, highways, or civil engineering sectors.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management best practices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficient in using relevant software and tools for cost management and reporting.
