Accounts Payable Supervisor (Sepulveda Finance & Accounting)

This position is hybrid and requires two days a week on-site in Culver City, CA. The pay range for this position is between $66,600 - $69,135 annually.

Summary

As the Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing as well as performing functions within the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors, and maintaining financial records. This is a key role within our organization, and we are looking for someone who can effectively manage the accounts payable function while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department, including supervising staff, managing workflows, and ensuring accuracy of financial data and timeliness of payments.
  • Supervise staff to include, but not limited to staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.
  • Process vendor payments as needed to provide coverage.
  • Review AP batches for accuracy. Obtain and/or clarify any questionable invoice items, prices or approvals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing, including assisting with sub-ledger balancing and monitoring accrual needs.
  • Ensure that financial deadlines are met, and customer service is provided to both vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Protect business against unintentional overpayment.
  • Practice effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors in a timely manner, while adhering to credit terms and taking advantage of early payment discounts.
  • Learning, understanding, enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy of an organization's financial documents for payment, auditing and tax purposes.
  • Monitor and assist with Certify (Visa/reimbursement) program administration and monthly processing.
  • Record monthly Visa card transactions.
  • Responsible for 1099 Reporting
  • Participate in system and other testing to ensure compliance with internal and external controls.
  • Create an environment of continuous process improvement and implement streamlining opportunities.
  • Work with their team to achieve goals.
  • Assist with special projects as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Aligned with the Agency's mission and values.
  • 5+ years of accounts payable experience.
  • 2+ years of proven experience supervising staff and managing processes.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including accrual and prepaid transactions.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Prior 1099 reporting knowledge.
  • Great Plains and Certify experience desired.
