Senior Quantity Surveyor - Main Contractor - £109 Million Project in West London
A leading UK building contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team for an exciting £109 million project in West London. This prestigious development includes the construction of 407 apartments across six buildings, five shell and core commercial units, podium areas on the first floor of each building, and an underground car park. This is a prime opportunity to work on high-profile, multi-million-pound projects with a reputable main contractor.
Role Overview
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of this ambitious project. Your responsibilities will include:
Subcontract Procurement & Account Management: Manage the procurement and account handling of subcontractors.
Cost Forecasting & Reporting: Prepare monthly project reports, forecasting costs and values, and ensuring budgetary control.
Cash Flow & Payment Management: Prepare and value progress and final payments for contracts and subcontracts, along with cash flow forecasting.
Quantity Surveying: Appraise construction options, prepare bills or schedules of quantities for materials, labour, and services required for construction and engineering works.
Budget Preparation: Code bill of quantities in Cost X for trade packages and generate QS 1&2 project budgets, loading values into SAP.
Programme Management: Prepare cash flow projections based on contract and target programmes, using these to monitor actual vs. planned progress.
Re-measurement & Procurement Tracking: Re-measure trade packages to identify quantity errors and process tender enquiries. Maintain a procurement tracker aligned with the target programme.
Value Engineering: Conduct value engineering appraisals in coordination with the design team and project manager.
Subcontractor Evaluation: Perform subcontractor reference checks to assess health and safety adherence, programme performance, quality standards, financial stability, and other relevant criteria. What’s in it for You?
