Senior PHP Developer

£50,000 - £60,000

Hybrid (2 days a week on-site)


Bright Purple are delighted to bring to market an exclusive and brand new opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join a rapidly scaling organisation with sustainability at the heart of its mission. Their custom-built applications are at the core of their operations, setting them apart from the competition. You’ll play a crucial role in taking their mission to the next level, influencing operations as they grow across global markets.


The projects are new and exciting, with real technical challenges that should excite any developer. Be it re-factoring their front-end code to migrate from Angular to React, or developing sophisticated back-end, PHP-based applications.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Working closely with the team and technical leadership to ensure applications & systems meet the evolving needs of the business.
  • Leading code reviews and offering strategic technical advice.
  • Evaluating and recommending innovative architectural solutions.
  • Spending at least half your time hands-on with code, focusing on development rather than meetings.
  • Improving system performance, stability, and reliability
  • Mentoring and leading a team of developers to success.


The technical experience you bring should cover some of the following:

  • PHP
  • Laravel
  • React
  • Node.js
  • Typescript
  • DevOps
  • AWS
  • MySQL


More broadly, you’ll tick the boxes if you bring:

  • Significant experience in a software development role.
  • A strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement and innovation.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of your projects.
  • Experience mentoring and leading a development team.
  • A focus on enhancing system robustness and performance.
