The Role:
The company is looking for a proactive Freelance Site Manager with a few years of experience and a strong grasp of standard construction processes and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all on-site operations, ensuring projects run smoothly, on time, and within budget.
Key responsibilities include:
Proactive Project Management: Prepare detailed and informative weekly and monthly reports for client review, while updating the construction programme on a weekly basis.
Contractor Coordination: Lead weekly trade contractor meetings, issue minutes, and manage non-conformance notices as required.
Problem-Solving: Work closely with the design team to resolve any issues that arise on-site in a timely and efficient manner.
Toolbox Talks & Record-Keeping: Conduct regular toolbox talks and ensure all site records are meticulously maintained.
Project Handover: Prepare comprehensive handover and O&M (Operation and Maintenance) manuals upon project completion.
Snagging Process: Oversee pre-snagging and snagging activities with clients and trade contractors.
Building Control: Ensure final sign-off from Building Control authorities is obtained. Requirements:
Experience: A proven track record in site or project management, ideally managing construction projects valued at £1.5m or more.
Civils Background: Prior experience in civil engineering or related fields is preferred.
Qualifications: Possession of relevant construction qualifications such as an HNC, HND, or Degree.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
