Job Description
The business:
We currently working with a well-established, London based Main Contractor with a turnover in the region of £200m.
The business cover a range of different sectors, including Residential, Education, Leisure and Commercial up to £50m in build value.
The business have built a strong market presence in London over the past 10-15 years and cover projects across London and the South East.
The Role: Design Manager
We are currently seeking a lead Design Manager to join the business. You will be based out of the office in Central London and will be responsible for delivering one scheme initially for the business.
The current live portfolio of projects are Residential bias so the right candidate would need to have a strong understanding on running new build RC Frame projects.
Responsibilities/ Involvement include but aren’t limited to:
* Appointing external consultants.
* Resolving technical issues arising from sites.
* Managing the consultants’ appointment process & paperwork including PI insurance. Collateral Warranties.
* Checking working drawing packages produced by External Consultants.
* Suggesting alternative construction methods, details, and materials to increase margin, improve quality and reduce lifetime costs.
* Obtaining design drawings from suppliers and obtaining consultant approval.
* Appointing / checking Landscape Architects details.
* Checking Structural Engineers drawings in relation to the Architects drawings
