This position is responsible for the routine installation, alteration, expansion, and/or modification of fire alarm systems or other low voltage systems. The Fire Alarm System Foremen will install all necessary components and systems in compliance with a good workmanlike manner and in compliance with applicable NFPA and Building Codes.

Job Duties
  • Perform Installation Fire Alarm Systems and Components including panels, power supplies, initiating, notification, and/or interface devices.
  • Ability to install conduit, junction boxes, and run necessary wire to support system components.
  • Read and interpret fire alarm drawings and other construction drawings and documents.
  • Identify conflicts and field changes and report changes back to project management team.
  • Manage other crew members on site and specify areas of work for crew and set goals and milestones for that work.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and/or contractors to complete scope of work for the project.
  • Perform thorough documentation of all stages of construction in a daily log.
  • Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on requirements and general status of job
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing others
  • Familiarity with NFPA 72 and NFPA 70 and applicable building codes.
  • NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems a plus
  • California State Blue card is a plus
  • Proficient in the use of computers and smart phones, specifically Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills required
  • Organized, motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record

Compensation: $28-$33/hour

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs, or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
