JOB TITLE: SKILLED WORKER MAINTENANCE - ROOFER
DUTY DAYS: 240
PAY GRADE: N05
SALARY SCHEDULE:
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To maintain buildings and structures in a manner consistent with PISD standards as to appearance and function.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification/Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Must have a valid Texas driver's license and meet and maintain the insurance requirements of PISD.
* Must pass an initial drug test and be part of a random drug testing program.
* Must pass a criminal history check.
Special Knowledge/ Skills/Experience
* Willing to progress in skill level.
* General knowledge of tools used in designated craft.
* Two years' experience preferred.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Assist with the repairs to all types of roofing systems.
* Assist with the installation of all types of new roofing systems.
* Perform preventative maintenance on all types of roofing systems.
* Must have a working knowledge of computer systems regarding email, work order, and time entry systems.
* Assist other crafts as needed.
* Must be willing to respond to occasional after-hour emergencies.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions
Physical Demands/Environment Factors:
Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting, must have use of all faculties. Must be able to work from ladders and elevated platforms. Work outside. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials. May work on slippery and uneven surfaces.
