Working Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our multi-disciplinary Memory Assessment Service (MAS) team at The Bay, Morecambe. As an independent specialist practitioner, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective assessment, planning, consultation, and formulation towards the diagnosis of dementia within our service.
Key Responsibilities:

Specialist Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments and contribute to the accurate formulation of diagnoses for patients presenting with memory-related concerns.

Dementia Treatment Expertise: Apply your specialist knowledge of strategies and interventions in the treatment of dementia, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care.
*
Risk Management: Identify risk factors in patient care confidently and take appropriate action to mitigate these risks.
*
Collaborative Communication: Facilitate effective communication between GPs, LCFT services, non-statutory services, and other relevant agencies to ensure continuity and the highest possible standards of patient care.
*
Mentoring and Supervision: Provide mentoring and clinical supervision to other staff members and trainees on placement, fostering professional growth and development within the team.
*
Leadership Support: Assist the team manager in leading the MAS team, ensuring that the assessment, formulation, planning, and monitoring of care provided to patients and their carers are of the highest quality.

Promotion of Trust Values: Actively promote and uphold the Trust values within the MAS service, ensuring compliance with the NMC and HPC codes of conduct.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Qualifications: Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration.
* Experience: Significant experience in mental health services, particularly in dementia care, and experience in a similar role at Band 6 or equivalent.
* Specialist Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of dementia care, assessment tools, and intervention strategies.
* Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies.
* Leadership: Proven ability to mentor and supervise staff, and to support team leadership in a clinical setting.
* Risk Management: Strong skills in identifying and managing risk within mental health services.
