Job Description
Civil / Structural Engineering Technician - Edinburgh(£30-£40k depending on experience)
We are currently looking for Civil / Structural Engineering Technician to join our client's expanding team in Edinburgh. Ideally applicants should have a HNC / HND in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 2 years' recent and current experience in infrastructure and / or structural design.
Core responsibilities
Effective and efficient operator of AutoCAD. Revit experience would be beneficial but not essential.
Having or working towards Engineering Technician status or equivalent through a recognised professional institution
A good general knowledge of building construction.
Producing neat and readable technical drawings on a wide array of construction and engineering projects
Detailed designs and production of reports
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
Accurately interpreting engineers mark ups and drawings
Liaising effectively with the design team
Skills, experience, and qualifications
Qualification in a relevant technical subject including elements of CAD/Drafting (HNC/HND or equivalent).
Numerate with a focus on problem solving.
Some design ability with an application of engineering principles
Experience of working on timber structures would be beneficial but not essential.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Commercial awareness in dealings with clients, proposals, and projects.
