Shift Team Leader
We are seeking a dedicated Shift Team Leader to join our team at an energy-from-waste facility. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our client's plant while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Responsibilities of a Shift Team Leader:
* Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and legislation.
* Ensure compliance with Environmental Permit conditions.
* Act as Operations Manager when required.
* Maximise safe production in alignment with business strategy.
* Manage the Safe System of Work as a Senior Authorised Person, including the formal release of Plant and/or Apparatus.
* Operate and monitor plant equipment and processes via control systems to maintain safe, efficient, and continuous operations.
* Guide Shift Plant Operators in regular plant walk-downs, asset adjustments, and inspections, recording information as per management system requirements.
* Support and coordinate minor reactive maintenance and process stoppages on-shift.
* Assist in the continuous improvement of operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Supervise the testing and treatment of boiler, cooling, and other plant water systems.
* Manage fuel, process consumables, and residues, including sampling, storage, and logistics.
* Optimise plant output and performance to meet availability and production targets.
* Ensure the Health & Safety and welfare of your staff.
* Record all defects through the Maintenance Management System.
* Collaborate with the Maintenance Department in coordinating planned and unplanned outages.
Key Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a similar role within an energy-from-waste facility or related industry.
* Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Ability to operate and monitor plant equipment and processes.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
