Job Description
Our client, a leading engineering and maintenance provider, is currently seeking a Senior HSE Advisor to join their team in Reading. The company supports customers across various markets including chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage, making this a dynamic and exciting opportunity in the manufacturing and engineering sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide coaching, mentoring and line management to safety advisors within the team
Work closely with the existing Lead to provide strategic guidance to the HSE team
Collaborate with the business' Regional HSE to ensure the project aligns with regional health and safety goals
Provide support and guidance to project managers on all matters relating to HSE
Ensure all work activities comply with company and site safety procedures, maintaining high standards of health & safety
Promote a Safety First culture, delivering toolbox talks and safety-related training as required
Track and report HSE performance in line with regional requirements
Identify and develop initiatives to drive continuous improvement on the project
Plan and conduct HSE audits, ensuring timely closeout of any actions
Encourage safe card submission within the team, monitor submissions, and follow up on actions with relevant managers
Ensure excellent communication with project management, the wider region, and client HSE representatives
Provide HSE support to the region as required, including travel to other sites within the region
Job Requirements:
NEBOSH & IOSH Qualifications
Experience in health & safety management and engineering
Proficiency in QHSE and HSE management practices
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in the construction industry
Experience in nuclear, oil & gas, or other heavily regulated industries
Ability to obtain Security Clearance
