H&S Assistant

Here at Career Makers we are working alongside our client in seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment across all of our operations.

Responsibilities:

- Develop, review, and update project and company risk assessments

- Conduct regular health and safety audits and site inspections

- Review construction phase plans and compliance documentation

- Provide health and safety advice and support to our pre-contracts, delivery, and design teams

- Assist in setting company health and safety targets and objectives

- Implement and assess the effectiveness of behavioural safety initiatives

- Investigate accidents and incidents and provide comprehensive reports

- Liaise with regulatory authorities as needed

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation

Qualifications and Skills:

- Proven background in health and safety in the construction industry, including fit-out and built environment experience

- Excellent knowledge of the current CDM Regulations

- Experience with safe access systems, temporary works procedures, and asbestos management

- Strong communication and report-writing skills

- Ability to influence and advise stakeholders at all levels, including clients

- Resilience and confidence in confrontational situations

- Excellent time management and prioritization skills

- Commitment to ongoing professional development in health, safety, environment, and quality management

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
