Intermediate Data Quality Analyst to support data quality testing on a cloud-based student information system for a higher education client

Our valued higher-education client is seeking an Intermediate Data Quality Analyst to support data quality testing on a cloud-based student information system Initial 1-year contract with strong possibility of extension to a total of 2 years in Ottawa, ON (hybrid). 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday. As the successful candidate, you will play a crucial role in supporting a team engaged in various data management activities, with a primary focus on validating and migrating data from an existing legacy student information system to a new cloud-based solution. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data throughout the migration process. This will involve performing thorough data quality checks, developing and executing test cases, and addressing any discrepancies or issues that arise. Responsibilities: Perform Testing, Data Quality Profiling & Data Quality Assessments; working with the team to establish business rules, DQ rules, and DQ thresholds for data being assessed. Conduct data testing, profiling and assessment based on customized DQ rules. Measure and report on data quality assessment results and ongoing data quality improvement through the use of DQ scorecards and/or dashboards. Identify opportunities to cleanse data prior to data migrations. Support data verification and functional testing of migrated data. Perform Data Issue Analysis & Remediation, working with the team to identify the root cause of data & migration issues and resolve them. Perform Data Mapping & Build Data Transformations, working with the team to build and run data transformation routines to transform & move data from its current state into the vendor staging database. Review data mappings for completeness and accuracy and work with the team to keep maintain data mappings (and other metadata). Must Have Skills: 3 years in a data analysis role involving reporting/analytics projects, data warehouse and/or data platforms. Ability to elicit data requirements and data quality rules from business use cases. Demonstrated experience supporting data mapping , data transformation, or data verification projects Demonstrated knowledge of Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance. Nice to have Skills: Demonstrated experience working with agile principles and the scrum framework Demonstrated experience working with Collibra as a data quality management/cataloguing tool Experience working within higher education Apply
