API Developer

This is a 12 month contract with CHS. 100% remote. No PST candidate. Need strong API developers. All visa open. Pay Rate: 60-65/HR-W2 or up to 70/HR-C2C/1099.

Required Skills: Python, API development, AWS App Sync and Graph QL. Need a strong developer with real App Sync and GraphQL.

An industry leader is looking for a contract a motivated Senior API Developer to help create the Company's next-generation middleware. This role will work with the product team to build integrations with backend systems, serving customer facing web portals. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud integration patterns and experience building scalable, secure, and maintainable backend services. Must be able to effectively interact with Business Analysts, Technical Analysts, and business users to understand the overall enterprise solution. Must be capable of managing multiple deliverables and defining scope for new or existing applications.
What Skills/Experience Should You Have?
• 5+ years of experience developing and implementing APIs
• Strong coding skills; 5+ years Python experience is required
• Extensive background developing 2+ years GraphQL APIs
• Experience with 1+ years AWS AppSync
• 2+ years AWS native technologies such as API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, Step Functions, ElastiCache
• Experience with ORM tools such as SQLAlchemy
• Experience with SQL and database such as Postgres RDS, DynamoDB and SQL Server
• Experience implementing multiple data caching patterns
• Experience with API design patterns and guidelines
• Experience with Agile development practices and techniques
• Experience with version control tools, such as Git
• Experience writing and verifying secure coding techniques
• Experience writing unit tests
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to mentor others on the team
• Ability to troubleshoot services in complex distributed environments
• Ability to interact effectively with co-workers and collaborate with team members
• Strong attention to detail

What Are Some Nice to Haves?
• Knowledge of SAP OData services
• Hands on experience using CI/CD and DevOps practices to deliver products
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform
• Applicable AWS certifications or training
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization services such as Okta
