The API Developer Team Lead will be responsible for setting the vision of CFNA's API Gateway, as well as defining, prioritizing and supporting the work required to build out CFNA's API Library. **Responsibilities**

Leadership Responsibilities (30%):

* Provide leadership to drive API strategy/roadmap initiatives

* Help establish API development methodology and selection of API technology components including API Gateway

* Lead or assist in responding to API Platform enhancement requests

* Lead a team of API developers in delivering large and complex PI solutions

* Leads large IT development efforts of complex scope

* Coach and mentor other members of the development team on best practices related to API and system development

* Collaborate with Cloud Solutions, Security and Infrastructure to ensure that integrations are secure and robust

Development/Support Responsibilities (70%):

* Analyzes, designs, develops, codes and implements APIs in one or more programming languages

* Supports APIs with an understanding of system integration, test planning, scripting, and troubleshooting.

* Assesses the health and performance of software applications and databases.

* Establishes, participates, and maintains relationships with business units, customers and subject matter experts in order to remain apprised of direction, project status, architectural and technology trends, risks, and functional/integration issues.

* Defines specifications and develop APIs, modifies existing APIs, prepares test data, and prepares functional specifications.

* Analyzes program and application performance using various programming languages, tools and techniques.

* Provides guidance to non-technical staff in using software and hardware systems most effectively and efficiently.

* Reviews project proposals, evaluates alternatives, provides estimates and makes recommendations.

* Designs and defines specifications for systems integrations.

* Identifies potential process improvement areas and suggests options and recommends approaches.

* Provide 24x7 rotating on-call support

**Qualifications**

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelors degree; or 6 years and a masters degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience
