Job Description

  • Assisting in Project Supervision: Helping to manage daily operations on the construction site, ensuring work progresses according to schedule and plans.
  • Quality Control: Monitoring the quality of work performed by subcontractors and trades to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Safety Management: Ensuring that all safety protocols are followed on-site, conducting safety meetings, and addressing any safety concerns.
  • Scheduling: Assisting in the preparation and updating of project schedules, coordinating with subcontractors to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keeping accurate records of daily activities, site conditions, and any issues that arise. Reporting progress and any deviations from the plan to the Superintendent.
  • Communication: Facilitating communication between the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders. This includes attending and participating in meetings as needed.
  • Resource Management: Assisting in the management of materials and equipment, ensuring they are available and used efficiently on-site.

The Successful Applicant

  • Educational Background: A degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Relevant Experience: Practical experience in construction, such as internships, co-op programs, or previous roles in the industry, is highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Construction Processes: Understanding construction methods, materials, and building codes is essential.
  • Proficiency with Construction Software: Familiarity with project management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project) is advantageous.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring high-quality work and adherence to specifications and safety standards.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Effectively communicating with team members, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Proactively identifying and resolving issues on-site.
