Status: Exempt

Job Summary:

PIC has an immediate need for a qualified Site Construction Manager for a 10MW Solar Field being constructed on 60 acres in western TX. The Site Construction Manager reports directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for overseeing field operations on the construction of the project, to achieve safe, timely and economical completion of each project. The Site Construction Manager will be involved with site preparation followed by civil construction, which may include work in support of environmental compliance and engineering, as well as the installation of torque tubes and panels, followed by electrical and balance of plant work in support of mechanical completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Plan, organize and observe construction work in support of maintaining efficient job progress.
* Monitor and provide direction on scheduling of equipment and material deliveries in support of construction activities.
* Be aware of and ensure compliance with permits, contracts, and agreements in relation to construction work. Administer change orders when required.
* Initiate appropriate discussion when engineering errors are encountered in support of efficient solutions.
* Promote effective and positive communication with customers, engineers, contractors, and supplier representatives.
* Provide progress and safety reporting to client and Priority Power management teams, including the completion of monthly, weekly, and daily reports as required.
* Maintain a marked-up and as-built set of drawings in support of producing a record set of drawings and documents at project completion.
* Respond to request for information (RFI) from contractors with input from Project Manager and Engineer.
* Confirm work invoiced by contractors, equipment and material suppliers is correct.
* Assist in the development and implementation of project specific procedures.
* Promote workplace safety through observing work execution, hazard identification, participation in tailgate safety meetings, and review of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) plans.
* Review and audit site specific safety documentation, including Pre-Task Analysis (PTAs) and Task Safety Observations (TSOs) on a regular basis.
* Participate in site coordination meetings as the representative of Priority Power.
* Perform inspection of all construction activities to ensure construction compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and codes.
* Manage QA/QC to verify all work on site is performed to the required standards and specifications. Document non-compliant work using forms and photographs.
* Provide engineering information to contractors in support of ensuring current drawing revisions are being used by contractors.
* Confirm receipt of material and equipment deliveries, including the management of all required documentation.
* Verify that equipment and material deliveries meet specification requirements and are stored and maintained as required prior to installation and commissioning.
* Witness equipment setting and alignment.
* Walk down all systems prior to, during, and post testing to verify compliance with drawings and specifications and sign off on completed system testing and restoration.
* Develop punch lists of items out of compliance or not completed and ensure items are promptly addressed and completed.
* Manage as-built redlining of construction drawings by contractor to ensure changes are appropriately captured.

Job Requirements:

* Able to lead and organize a team with a balance of positive reinforcement and constructive feedback to create a productive work environment.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required to communicate with clients, peers, engineers, and construction professionals.
* Experienced in reading, interpreting, and understanding specifications, isometric drawings, structural drawings, and P&ID's.
* Demonstrated safety background, including record of safety training.
* Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Word, Excel, and Project.
* Must have and be able to maintain a state issued Driver's License.
* When required, must be able to work occasional extended hours.

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to sit, stand, bend (forward and backward) consistently and for potentially extended periods of time (up to 12 hours per day).
* Adept with climbing permanent and/or temporary ladders.
* Capable of daily extensive walking.
* May at times need to access confined spaces.
* Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.

Education / Experience:

* HS Diploma required.
* Engineering or construction degree / diploma OR suitable technical qualification such as master electrician OR
* 10+ years of experience leading, supervising and managing projects in the electrical construction industry.
* 3+ years of experience is required in field construction management of solar projects
