The Sales Development Manager at American Precast Concrete will be responsible for managing the entire sales and estimation process for turnkey installations of our precast concrete walls. This role demands a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of the construction industry. The Sales Development Manager will collaborate closely with project managers, the sales team, and clients to ensure accurate, competitive bids, and foster lasting client relationships.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Estimate Preparation: Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for turnkey installations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and the sales team to gather necessary information and insights for precise estimates.
- Site Assessments: Conduct site visits and assessments to understand project requirements and constraints fully.
- Supplier Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Detailed Estimation: Prepare detailed and itemized estimates, including costs for labor, materials, equipment, and other project-related expenses.
- Client Engagement: Present estimates and proposals to clients, addressing any questions or concerns, and working to build strong, trust-based relationships.
- Bid Management: Track and manage bid status, ensuring timely submission of all required documentation, and participate in post-bid reviews to refine future processes.
- Industry Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends, costs, and best practices to ensure estimates are competitive and accurate.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Continuously follow up on all sales leads to maintain a robust sales pipeline and maximize conversion rates.
- CRM Utilization: Utilize Salesforce CRM for tracking and managing sales leads, opportunities, and customer interactions effectively.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to inform precise estimates.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Experience: Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on precast concrete or similar products preferred.
- Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with Salesforce CRM is essential.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with team members and clients.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings accurately.
- Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Industry Experience: Experience with both commercial general contracting (GC) projects and residential job sales.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license with the ability to conduct site visits as needed.
