Job Description

Glen Raven is recruiting for a Double Operator which will operate the doubler machine to double up packages of yarn according to the operator training manual and safety standards. This position adds value to Glen Raven by their commitment to achieve the highest level of production, quality and safety as well as teamwork when preparing yarn, received from the winder, for the twisting machine.

This is a night shift position/7pm - 7am/ 2-2-3 schedule. Pay rate is $17.72/hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow company policies, safe work practices, prevent injury to yourself and other associates
  • Report any unsafe work condition or any work related injury to your supervisor immediately
  • Creel packages onto package holders
  • Thread yarn through guides and start on doubler tube
  • Start up new package
  • Repair/splice ends down until bobbin is full and ready to doff
  • Housekeeping
  • Remove empty cones as they run out and replace with full package from tray packs (clean yarn when necessary before creeling)
  • Clean packages with single ends or wild yarn. Make sure packages have double ends
  • Flag, report and document any damaged, unsafe or broken machinery on flag board located at end of machine
  • Ability to run 60 spindles

Education and Experience:

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
