SEMH Construction and Mechanic Learning Support Assistants Needed

Position: SEMH Construction and Mechanic Learning Support Assistants
Location: SEMH College
Start Date: September
Hours: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Pay: £100 per day (PAYE)
Days Off: 4 days per week (specific days off outlined below)

Job Description: We are working with an amazing SEMH College that is seeking dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistants specializing in Construction and Mechanics for their Year 12 and Year 13 students. The ideal candidates will have strong behaviour management skills, relevant construction or mechanics experience, and experience working with Key Stage 5 (KS5) students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Available Positions:

Year 12:

Construction (Painting & Decorating) LSA

Experience Required: Good behaviour management, Construction (P&D) experience, KS5 SEMH experience.
Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (Thursday off).

Construction Multi-skills LSA

Experience Required: Good behaviour management, Construction Multi-skills experience, KS5 SEMH experience.
Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (Thursday off).

Mechanics LSA

Experience Required: Good behaviour management, Mechanics experience, KS5 SEMH experience.
Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (Thursday off).

Year 13:

Construction (Painting & Decorating) LSA

Experience Required: Good behaviour management, Construction (P&D) experience, KS5 SEMH experience.
Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (Friday off).

Mechanics LSA

Experience Required: Good behaviour management, Mechanics experience, KS5 SEMH experience.
Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (Friday off).

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and group support to students in construction or mechanics classes.
Assist in implementing personalized learning plans and behaviour management strategies.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to enhance student learning experiences.
Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.
Requirements:

Experience in behaviour management and working with KS5 SEMH students.
Relevant experience in construction (Painting & Decorating or Multi-skills) or mechanics.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with SEMH needs.
