Historic England have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Financial Controller.

The role is based in Swindon - Hybrid working.

What you will be doing

As our Financial Controller, you will lead the financial accounting activities (including monitoring, evaluating and advising on accounting standards regulations, conceptual and financial reporting frameworks).

You will lead the transactional processing teams including overall day-to-day responsibility for transactional activities.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivery of excellent shared services, promoting and supporting effective financial control, process improvement and inputting into key business critical projects.

Who we are looking for

  • Qualified CCAB accountant (or equivalent)
  • Significant staff management experience
  • Significant experience of working in a technical and/or transactional financial environment
  • Focused on delivering to targets and deadlines, personally and as a team
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Invests time in understanding and resolving customer issues
